I’m Brian, the person behind LechBytes. I build practical spreadsheets and digital tools to help people work smarter, with less frustration.
My career started with five years on a factory floor. I returned to school as a nontraditional student, earning associate’s and bachelor’s degrees before spending five years as an accountant at a major insurance company. That led to a 30-year career with a large general contractor, first as a cost accountant and later as IT Director.
Those experiences taught me to look at technology from the perspective of the person who has to use it.
Simple tools. Useful results.
Over the years, I’ve used software that could do plenty but made everyday tasks harder than they needed to be. Too often, the person using the application seemed to be an afterthought.
LechBytes grew from the belief that I could use my experience to help change that.
To me, simple means intuitive, functional, and dependable—a solution that works as expected and solves a problem. Whether you’re tracking expenses, organizing information, or managing a business, your tools should help you move forward.
Beyond the spreadsheets
I enjoy making complicated things easier to understand, whether I’m building a spreadsheet or solving a business problem.
Outside of work, I enjoy creating music, running, mountain biking, and spending time with family and friends—and sometimes, doing nothing at all.
